Below is a list of our services:
As a periodontist, Dr. Feldman is a specialist in the treatment of gum disease. Dr. Feldman and our highly experienced staff treat all stages of gum disease, from mild to advanced. We use advanced technology and minimally invasive procedures to provide gentle, effective treatment with minimum patient discomfort.
Dr. Feldman was the first periodontist in Sarasota County to use a laser to treat gum disease. The laser treatment procedure he uses is so minimally invasive that it often doesn’t require any anesthesia—a technique which he himself co-developed over 20 years ago . Because there is no cutting or need for sutures, laser surgery is gentle and requires very little healing.
In certain, very rare cases of advanced gum disease, conventional periodontal surgery is needed to fully remove the infection that is at the root of the issue. Dr. Feldman is very skilled in performing this procedure, and he uses a team of surgical assistants to perform it in a fast, effective and efficient manner.
After gum disease has been treated, regular maintenance cleanings are a vital component of keeping your gums in good condition and preventing recurrence of bacterial infection. Our friendly and experienced hygienist will provide gentle and thorough cleanings using the latest dental technology. She will also educate you on home oral care, providing you with many practical tips on how to maintain the health of your gums between visits.
Gum recession can occur as a result of gum disease or due to other causes. It is important to restore the gumline back to its proper position in order to protect your teeth from damage, decay and bacterial infection. We use minimally invasive procedures to restore the gumline, including the breakthrough Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique—a type of gum recession treatment that doesn’t require any grafting.
The Chao Pinhole Surgical Technique is a breakthrough procedure that provides an alternative to traditional gum grafting treatment. Using this technique, Dr. Feldman is able to restore receded gums without the scalpels and sutures used in conventional surgery. This method is very gentle for patients, with very minimal healing required.
Sometimes gum tissue around a tooth needs to be removed because the tooth is in need of repair below the gumline. This is called functional crown lengthening because the natural crown of the tooth (the white part of the tooth above the gumline) appears longer as a result of the procedure. Dr. Feldman gently removes the gum tissue and fully exposes the tooth so that it can be repaired.
Excessive gum tissue (also known as a “gummy smile”) or an uneven gumline can spoil the beauty of your smile and can also prevent you from being able to properly clean your teeth. Dr. Feldman is able to remove excess gum tissue and reshape your gumline so your oral health is easier to maintain and your smile is symmetrical and aesthetic.
Dental implants are the modern gold standard of tooth replacement. Dr. Feldman uses state-of-the-art technology to place implants precisely and accurately, so that they provide optimum support for a single crown, a bridge or a denture.
Dr. Feldman can provide implant-supported replacement teeth for a full arch in one day. He uses the SmartFix implant system to provide a full set of new teeth, even to patients who have little bone available to support implants.
Lost bone can result in an unaesthetic appearance of the smile, and can also impede the placement of dental implants in certain circumstances. Dr. Feldman is an expert in bone grafting techniques and he uses the latest advances to provide minimally invasive bone regeneration.
Dr. Feldman will always try to repair a tooth if possible. However, if a tooth is beyond repair and needs to be replaced, he will perform a minimally invasive extraction using a special technique that is very gentle and causes the least possible damage to the surrounding gum and bone tissues.
