Our team approach to most of our procedures, where Dr. Feldman uses three assistants at all times, further ensures that we do our job quickly and thoroughly and makes for increased patient comfort and faster healing times.
Our friendly staff are here for you—before, during and after your treatment. We’re here to answer your questions and address any of your concerns. We will make sure your visits are as pleasant and efficient as possible, and we will do our best to meet your every need.
Comfort amenities for your relaxation
To make your treatment more comfortable in the chair, we provide pillows and blankets. In order to help you further relax, you can listen to music of your choice on our Pandora music feed, either through headphones or on audio speakers.
We additionally serve coffee and water, and you can watch the Smithsonian Channel on our 60” TV in the reception area.
Minimally invasive treatment
We use minimally invasive procedures and dental equipment to make your treatment as comfortable as possible.
Dental laser for treating gum disease
We use state-of-the-art dental lasers for treating moderate to advanced gum disease. Lasers are much less invasive than traditional scalpels and they eliminate the need for sutures. They are able to very precisely target diseased tissues without any adverse effects on the healthy, surrounding tissues. Additionally, they can be used to disinfect the treated areas and speed up the healing process. They are far more comfortable for patients than the use of traditional surgical instruments.
Ultrasonic Bone Surgery System
With his Piezosurgery® surgical unit, Dr. Feldman is able to precisely cut bone without affecting the soft tissues (such as gums, membranes and nerve tissue). Due to its accuracy and precision, the piezosurgery procedure is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that results in faster healing with far less post-operative discomfort.
Ultrasonic scalers for gentle cleanings
We utilize ultrasonic scalers in the removal of hardened plaque (calculus) from your teeth. Ultrasonic scalers are gentler than traditional scaling instruments, and the ultrasonic vibrations have the added benefit of killing the gum-disease-causing bacteria by destroying their cell membranes. The frequency of the vibrations can also be adjusted to the comfort level of the patient.
Dr. Feldman uses microsurgical tools for a less invasive approach to your treatment. Incisions are more precise and any sutures are smaller. This makes for a shorter healing process and reduced recovery time.
Minimally invasive tooth extractions
Dr. Feldman will always try to repair your teeth and gums as his primary focus of treatment. But when a tooth is beyond repair, Dr. Feldman will use a special surgical technique to quickly and gently remove the tooth, with no destruction to the surrounding bone.
Dr. Feldman first applies a topical anesthetic to numb the injection site, using a special technique so you do not feel the needle. The injection is then delivered gently and precisely with a computer-regulated flow of anesthesia, using our state-of-the-art anesthesia system.
If you need extra help in relaxing or reducing anxiety about your dental treatment, we will prescribe you a sedative pill that you will take before your procedure. This sedative will cause you to feel sleepy, but you will still be able to respond to the doctor’s instructions during treatment. Since the sedative causes drowsiness, we will arrange for a driver to take you home after your procedure. You will remember little to nothing about your procedure after treatment.
